Quick and Easy Zeppole Recipe

Zeppole is an Italian dessert – fried dough covered in powdered sugar.  I always keep the ingredients for these; they’re so quick and easy to make if you need a dessert in a pinch.


  1. 1 can refrigerated biscuits
  2. 1/3 cup powdered sugar
  3. vegetable oil (for frying)
  4. small paper bag (lunchbag)


  1. put powdered sugar into paper bag
  2. fill frying pan with enough oil to cover 1/2 biscuit
  3. heat oil on medium high
  4. cut each biscuit in half, flatten by hand and put hole in middle
  5. fry biscuits, turning when light brown
  6. when both sides of biscuit is brown take out of frying pan and put in paper bag
  7. shake bag to coat zeppole with powdered sugar
  8. Serve hot
